In Memory of Sophia Vasquez

On June 9th, 2016 our dear teammate, player and friend, Sofia Vasquez (#35), was killed unexpectedly in a car crash that morning. Sofie was full of energy and enthusiasm for life. Her love of basketball was evident in the way she played and she was fiercely competitive - with a smile. We all miss Sof deeply and we all have lasting memories with her because she took the time to know each one of us. To keep those memories alive we invite everyone to click on the link below and share their stories. We want to collect as many as we can in order to compile a book for the Vasquez family to have from the team. Sofie-ismsThank you for your continued support and love of the Vasquez family, and of each other. Keep smiling. Love the game and love each other. And always #smilemoreforsof. We love and miss you, kid.I have included links to Sofie's obituary, articles of the accident, and details of the funeral at the bottom of this post for those interested.A viewing will be held in Sofie's honor on Thursday, June 16th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and again on Friday, June 17th, from 10:00am to 11:30am. Following the Friday viewing, the funeral will be held at 12:00pm. All services will be held at the Fruit Heights Stake Center on 170 N. Mountain Road in Fruit Heights, Utah. Sofia will be interred at Lakeview Cemetery in Bountiful. ObituarySophia's Smile ArticleIncident Report Article
